Attire
The presentation of your audition is important. The way you dress for your
audition tells a scholarship committee a lot about how seriously you take
the audition and how seriously you want the committee to consider you. You
have spent a lot of time preparing your audition repertoire. Take the same
care in choosing your attire. For men, and button-down long sleeve shirt with
a tie, slacks and slick shoes makes for a great presentation. For women, a
nice blouse with pants or dress make a great impression.

Scholarship
auditions
Students interested in coming to SFA as music majors must schedule an audition
for acceptance and scholarship opportunity. Application forms may be downloaded
here. Applicants are asked to prepare two contrasting works. The contrasting
works may be movements of larger works but may not be from the same composer.
The SFA Orchestra program is unique in that it offers scholarships to both music majors and non-majors. If you decide to pursue another path aside from music at SFA, you may still be eligible for a scholarship while being an active member of the orchestras at SFA.
In addition to the scholarships offered by the School of Music, other forms fo financial aid are avialable. Interested applicants should call the Office of Financial Aid at (936) 468-2403 or visit http://www.sfasu.edu/faid/
